Associate Professor Dr. Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie Appointed as External Examiner for Doctoral Viva Voce at SEGi University

Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie served as an External Examiner for a doctoral Viva Voce examination conducted by SEGi University & Colleges, marking another milestone in his continued involvement in international postgraduate assessment and academic quality assurance.

The doctoral viva involved Luo Wenfu and was held on 25 November 2025, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The viva session was chaired by AP Dr Sheiladevi, with Dr Sazali Yusoff acting as the Internal Examiner, while Associate Professor Dr. Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie fulfilled the role of External Examiner.

The appointment was formally communicated by Dr. Nur Ikhwany binti Hj. Kamaruddin, Lecturer and Postgraduate Programme representative at the Faculty of Education, Languages, Psychology & Music, SEGi University & Colleges. In accordance with the university’s postgraduate examination procedures, all appointed panel members reviewed the doctoral thesis and submitted their respective examiner and chairperson reports prior to the viva session.

Associate Professor Dr. Mohamad Nizam’s participation reflected his established reputation as an international academic in the fields of martial arts studies, sports science, and higher education research, as well as his extensive experience serving on postgraduate viva panels at both national and international levels. His role contributed to ensuring rigorous academic evaluation, scholarly integrity, and adherence to quality assurance standards throughout the doctoral assessment process.

This completed appointment further strengthened academic collaboration between SEGi University & Colleges and external scholars, while underscoring the importance of experienced external examiners in maintaining excellence within postgraduate research governance.
